Keep up-to-date with all the latest news happening in our school.
Last week a band of intrepid explorers left Antrim NIR Station to explore Botanic Gardens and the Ulster Museum. The children were very excited to see Takabuti, the mummy and focus of our Egyptian topic this term. We also got to have fun in the Discover History and Nature sections. After our Daily Mile around Botanic Gardens, we explored the new tropical house, it was hot!
As usual we had an excellent day and everyone learned something new.
We have had an amazing time learning about measures in our annual measures week this year.
For once the weather was on our side and we took part in a wide range of fun activities that encouraged our thinking and working together.
We also had our legendary Bake Off! Where P5-7 took part in measuring and preparing some wonderful cakes. The standard was excellent!
A very early start this morning for our adventurers! Everyone slept well, and are raring to do canoeing and laser tag this morning.
It has been great to see everyone try their best at new things, with some hidden talents being discovered!
We are here!
After a a long journey we have arrived at Greenhill, after a group bed making teaching session we got comfy in our accommodation and Cooper had an awesome lunch of Pasta bake and Stew, plenty of clean plates all round. This afternoon's activities are laser tag archery, climbing and abseiling, dinner is gammon and curry!
Everyone went on a walk down to the town this evening and had a browse in the world famous Bon Bon and ate ice cream, ice cream and more ice cream!
Today we held our Spring Concert for our parents and friends. The children all performed really well and we are very proud of each one of them.
Thank you to everyone who attended, a total of £127.96 was raised for School Funds.
P5,6 and 7 children have just completed an extremely rewarding three day coding course, led by PWC (Price Waterhouse Coopers). The course, entitled Hive Hackers, is designed to introduce the concepts of coding and computational thinking in a fun and engaging way. All children traveled to our shared education partner school, Millquarter, each day for a full day session that was delivered and supported by representatives from PWC. Each child received a pack and worked through conditionals, loops, procedures and debugging. It was an invaluable learning experience for the children and a great way to interact with our friends in Millquarter!
Extra special thanks to the staff and children of Millquarter who made us feel so welcome and to the excellent Conor and the Hive Hackers team.
