Shared Education

Groggan Primary School, Millquarter Primary School, St. Broigids Tirkane and Dunclug Primary School are in a Shared Education Aspire partnership, The Principals, Staff, coordinators  and pupils all work together to improve the learning opportunities for each child and enabling them to experience a world beyond the classroom. The partnership is funded by Peace Plus and all four schools greatly value the support received from the Education Authority and the funding that enables the project to exist.

Staff train and plan together, the Principals and coordinators work closely in all aspects of school life. The pupils in all year groups come together for shared classes and experiences.

Session 1 26th February 2025 Today we welcomed our new Primary 6 friends from Millquarter Primary School, Dunclug Primary School and St. Brigids' Tirkane for our first Peace Plus Aspire Shared Education session. Our coordinator Mrs. Hunter had four sessions planned. One was a Digital Art session, next there was a Boccia session, a 'Getting to Know You' session and a 24 Game session. The children loved spending time with their new friends.

They are working on two contrasting pieces, The Sound of Silence and The Bare Necessities from the Jungle Book. The children are really enjoying working together and they sound brilliant!

Our Coding lessons with Chris Dillon

Primary 5/6 had a fantastic time at Millquarter Primary School, when Chris Dillon from Max Coding came along to teach them all about coding. The children, as always worked really hard and had fun too!

Primary 5/6 classes work on the Closer project together

Primary 5 and 6 pupils have been working with Mrs. McNamee's class from Millquarter on the Closer Project. Our pupils are using technology to engage with each other and have shared their learning regularly- we may be only a few miles away from each other, but the impact of us supporting one another has been invaluable.

Primary 2/3 visit Millquarter to watch their Christmas performances.
