P 5

Primary 5 were continuing with Shape and Space today. We played, 'Shape Detective' where one child had to ask questions that were yes or no answers. From the information then they had to guess the 2D shape. Our best score was three - the children have requested a rematch! The class spent time sorting shapes using different criteria on a Venn Diagram. Ask your child about regular and irregular shapes. Do you think a rectangle is a regular shape? If you aren't too sure ask one of our very clever Primary 5 pupils!

This week is our ‘Shape and Space’ week at Groggan Primary School. Today Primary 5 spent some time learning about regular and irregular shapes. They revised their 2D shapes and their properties. They then became quite competitive as they played a 2D shape game!

What a day - check out these Primary 5 Mathletics winners!

Fractions using Smarties! Best Numeracy lesson ever - according to P5!

We have been adding speech marks to sentences and stories to show when someone is speaking. P5 enjoyed using pasta shapes as speech marks as well as organising sentences into correct and incorrect categories.

P5 have been learning their phonic sounds using a range of activities including dominoes, make the word and sound bingo.
