What I want to be when I am older - P7

P6/7 were looking at Fairtrade producers and how far away from Northern Ireland they were. The children then used scale to calculate the distance and used materials to create a mini map on the grass :)

Clay boats

Welcome to our Primary 6/7 page!

We have a very busy term ahead of us. Some of us are working hard for the Entrance Tests in November. It's not all hard work though, Miss Kane and Mrs Humphrey work hard to make sure we do lots of fun learning as well. This term we will be looking at Place Value in Numeracy, angles, turning and direction, different types of graphs and area and perimeter and lots more. In Literacy we will be looking at and creating our own stories from other cultures and doing lots of Literacy work related to our Unsinkable topic.

We had a special visit from Susie Millar, who wrote the book. 'The Two Pennies'. Susie's Great Grandfather was a worker from the shipyard who perished on the Titanic. She told us all about his two sons and the promise he made to them when he left to travel on the TItanic. She even brought some tools with her which were used the help build the great ship.
