What a busy week! All children were encouraged to think about how precious our planet is and the fact that we ALL have a responsibility to look after it.
The Week started with members of the Eco Committee holding a Special Assembly where they talked about how we have save energy, recycle and save water.
As off this week Groggan is cutting down their use of Single Use Plastics by taking the decision to stop selling bottles of water at school.
Jo and Mark came into school on Thursday to carry out Recycling workshops with all classes, highlighting the need to share this message with family members. If everyone does their part, things will start to change.
Gerard from STEM did a workshop with all P3 and P4 children about making junk toys which could move.
Over the week, all classes had the opportunity watch videos on important issues such as 'The Plastic Island in the Ocean' 'Climate change' and 'Rubbish.'
On Friday we all wore Green to encourage us to think about the small steps we can take. Our Green Week finished with a celebration of our Junk items which all classes made during the week. Well done everyone!
